I am a First Contact Physiotherapist and Advanced Clinical Practitioner.
For the last four years I have worked in a community Frailty team. In May 2022, I began working at Three Chequers medical practice and in this role assess and treat musculoskeletal conditions in the over 75s. My role also includes supporting care home residents and developing a community Frailty outreach service for the over 65s. First-Contact Physiotherapists (FCP) offer prompts assessments in order to diagnose and triage musculoskeletal conditions and provide tailored advice and exercise to help individuals manage their conditions independently. FCPs can also refer onwards to secondary care for further investigations and ongoing management.
The reception team can book you an initial telephone appointment, usually on the same day, without the need to see the GP. Should a face-to-face appointment be necessary, this will be arranged in consultation with the therapist and be either within the medical practice or within an individual’s home.
